SUMMARY:
Responsible for Developing and Implementing the Bank's HR Strategy and ensuring it's alignment with the business strategy and organizational goals. Advising, developing and implementing policies, procedures and practices to ensure that staff as individual and the business are supported and developed and the bank is a preferred place to work.

POSITION INFO:

Requirements:

  • Implement the Treasury division’s strategy in accordance with best practice.
  • Responsible for managing daily cash requirements, liquidity projections and foreign exchange dealing
  • Act as the primary dealer for cash management and foreign exchange transactions
  • Execute daily fund movement and investment transactions
  • Appropriately administer short and long term investments and act as an expert advisor on new investment opportunities.
  • Recommend bond and other investment opportunities to the ALCO in line with the Banks investment policies.
  • Manage, maintain and administer interbank relationships with regular communication with bankers to ensure robust operations and business relationships
  • Maintain bank limits for money market placements and Forex
  • Enhance money market returns in accordance with the Banks risk appetite.
  • Contribute to the ALCO via market intelligence, economic insights and trends
  • Continually evaluate legislative requirements (SARB & EXCON Regulations). Identify potential impact and make recommendations to mitigate risk.
  • Attend to ad-hoc requests including independently working on special Regulatory and Strategic projects.
  • Mentor and develop Treasury team members and promote a high-performance culture

Skills:

  • Appropriate finance tertiary qualification
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in a similar role at a financial institution.
  • Comprehensive understanding of bond markets and investment techniques
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of Treasury Regulations influencing banks.
  • Well-developed report writing, communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to achieve deadlines.

Ability to interact with Senior Management and put your point across even though they may not agree with you (ability to influence)
