JOB SUMMARY:

A leading supplier of fresh produce to the retail and food services industries is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to ensure operational efficiency whilst maintaining all legislative and internal policy, procedure & practice compliance and to work in close liaison with the HR in Philippi to ensure standardization of all HR policies, procedures and practices within their Gauteng branch.

JOB DESCRIPTION:


Minimum requirements for the role:

  • Must have a relevant HR degree
  • 4-5 years’ previous experience in an HR Generalist role, ideally in farming/food processing or similar unionized environment
  • Hands-on experience in industrial relations, recruitment and training, including working with SETA’s and Employment Equity Committees
  • Solid knowledge of all SA’s Labour regulations, Labour Relations Acts, directives and statutory compliance requirements
  • VIP payroll experience will be advantageous
  • ERS or similar biometric time and attendance system experience would be ideal
  • Experience using the COIDA online Portal (CompEasy) would be an added advantage
  • Must have own transport and a valid driver’s license

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing support to the Management Team and HOD’s on a daily, weekly and monthly basis to ensure operational efficiency whilst maintaining all legislative and internal policy, procedure and practice compliance.
  • Liaising with all employees in terms of dealing with all employment and payroll queries to ensure all queries are dealt with effectively and efficiently.
  • Ensuring all employees understand and adhere to all Company policies, procedures and processes.
  • Performing HR Administration, including the preparation of contracts of employment and management of fixed term (seasonal) contracts.
  • Managing the Recruitment and Selection (start to finish which includes orientation/induction and exit of employees) process.
  • Performing workforce planning in collaboration with Managers and HRM to support budget forecasting.
  • Ensuring accurate and timeous HR Management reporting (internally as well as statutory reporting).
  • Ensuring the implementation and adherence to OHS requirements and regulations, including COVID19 compliance.
  • Ensuring the ERS system is working effectively and monitoring all clocking’s.
  • Tracking, monitoring and approving all leave forms in relation to leave policy, and submitting to the Payroll department in line with payroll cut off dates.
  • Monitoring, approving and preparing all payroll information for bi-weekly wages processing to ensure all necessary documentation, timesheets, hours are accurate and is sent to Payroll department in line with payroll cut off dates.
  • Monitoring Health and Safety including COIDA submissions using the CompEasy portal.
  • Supporting and implementing all training initiatives, which would include Needs Identification, Induction, Co-ordination of training & learnerships and the accurate recordkeeping of such training.
  • Being the support function to HRM and SDF in terms of WSP/ATR compilation and submission.
  • Managing Industrial Relations, including supporting management with disciplinary procedures, CCMA cases, minute keeping of union meetings and maintaining the IR administration system (including discipline/personnel History on VIP).
  • Managing Organizational Development, including the implementation of performance appraisals, performance management, probation monitoring and probation reviews.
  • Reporting on Employment Equity and coordinating forum meetings.
  • Developing and implementing Employee Wellness initiatives and programmes
  • Supporting and facilitating all external ethical or other client/supplier audits.
  • Liaising with HR & Payroll team in Philippi to ensure standardization of all HR policies, procedures and practices within the Western Cape.
Salary package, including benefits, are highly negotiable depending on experience gained
