SUMMARY:
Our client is looking for an HR Generalist to join their expanding team.
POSITION INFO:
Job Specification;
Main purpose of the HR Generalist will be to maintain and conduct a broad knowledge of human resources functions ranging from talent acquisition to onboarding, risk and compliance, training and development, and industrial relations
Talent Acquisition
Assist with handling recruitment enquiries and approvals from EXCO
Compile monthly recruitment reports
Conduct regular follow-ups with managers to determine the effectiveness of recruiting plans and implementation
Ensure alignment of recruitment plan with EE targets as identified by the EE committee and/or Company and co-ordinate approval of non-EE appointments
Develop a pool of qualified candidates in advance of need
Build networks to find qualified passive candidates
Research and recommend new sources for active and passive candidate recruiting
Keep up to date with the latest developments in the field of recruitment and selection
Ensure compliance of all recruitment and relevant administration policies and procedures
Keep track of recruitment costs as well as savings from referrals and head-hunting where agency fees were incurred.
Create job descriptions/specs for vacant roles together with the line managers
Ensure that the recruitment time to fill a vacancy never exceeds 60 days from requisition to start date in line with the structured recruitment process
Post vacancies in online venues and send job specs to external recruitment agencies
Suggest improvements for Company website careers section
Use social and professional networking sites to identify and source candidates
Screen CV’s/applicants to evaluate if they meet the position requirements and forward to relevant managers
Maintain CV database, manage applicants via Direct Hire recruitment system
Assist with interviewing potential candidates along with Line managers to ensure compliance and assess cultural fit
Conduct reference checks, arranging tests when necessary
Compile and submit rejection letters to unsuccessful applicants
Prepare offer letters to potential new hires
Induction and onboarding
Inform relevant departments of new hires
Oversee onboarding and induction of new hires
Ensure new employee starters pack are prepared ahead of start date and that all other relevant parties within the company are notified of new starters
Follow up with line managers about new hires and performance during probation
Communicate with the HR Administrator about final paperwork once the new employee has successfully passed probation
Job Shadowing/Internships
Oversee and co-ordinate the Job Shadow and Internship programme
Ensuring student schedules are planned after consultation with respective heads of departments
Signing off any necessary documents as required by students’ study institutions
General
Additional duties that fall within the ambit of your capabilities may be added on from time to time
May be required to assist HR Manager with certain functions such as Performance Management, Disciplinaries
Minimum Requirements;
Matric or equivalent
Relevant HR-related tertiary qualification
Minimum of 4 years’ proven experience in a human resources generalist role
Knowledge of all relevant Labour Legislation (BCEA, LRA,SDA,EEA)
Knowledge of recruitment and selection procedures and strategies
Broad knowledge of all human resource functions
Strong administrative skills
Good planning and organisational skills
Effective communication skills
Ability to work in a pressured environment,
Be proactive and highly efficient
Conscientious and detail focussed
Methodical, organised, structured, and systematic
Integrity and ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality
Ability to work independently or in a team
Must be deadline-driven
