SUMMARY:
HR Manager - Lesotho

POSITION INFO:

This position reports to: Senior Manager and HR Executive

Main Responsibilities:

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for Operational activities of the Human Resources function in Lesotho.

  • Recruitment:

Establish mutual relationship and cooperative work ethic when sourcing candidates.

  • Labour Relations:

Maintain and facilitate stable labour relations between labour and management. Ensure managers follow company procedures and comply with legislation. Continuous training and development and updating of line managers on new labour law developments.

  • Training and Development:

Ensure that all planned training is delivered and supervise the maintenance of training records.

  • Grievances & Disciplinaries:

Provide support to line management when instituting grievances and disciplinary / corrective processes.

  • DDPR:

Represent the company on all matters referred to the DDPR by employees.

  • ISO, Social Welfare and Health matters:

Supports the implementation of these functions.

  • Employment Contracts:

Responsible for updating all contracts of employment and drafting/drawing up contracts of employment for new employees. Ensure that contract of employment comply with legislation in so far as the type of contract and the practical work relationship is concerned.

  • Policies:

Whilst assisting the HR Executive, ensure that policies and practices are aligned with and comply with legislation.

  • Decentralised Operations:                                            

Provide comprehensive Human Resources support to the Factory Managers and employees.

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or relevant field
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience as an HR Manager
  • In-depth, expert knowledge and experience in Lesotho labour legislation, policies and procedures
  • Experience in DDPR dispute resolution processes
  • Excellent computer skills, e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Post-graduate qualification in Human Resources will be an advantage
  • Member of Lesotho Labour Stakeholder groups
