HR MANAGER \/ HR BUSINESS PARTNER Location: Sandton, Johannesburg Salary: R40,000 – R60,000 per month + Benefits Department: Corporate Reports To: General Manager POSITION OVERVIEW Our client is seeking an experienced HR Manager \/ HR Business Partner to provide professional and strategic HR support to its Johannesburg office. The successful candidate will support management and employees through effective HR guidance, workforce planning, employee relations, performance management, recruitment, HR reporting and compliance. This position requires an HR professional who can operate beyond transactional HR administration and contribute meaningfully to business-focused HR solutions, organisational effectiveness, continuous improvement and the development of employees. The role will suit an experienced, hands-on HR professional who is comfortable working within a multinational and multicultural corporate environment. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 1. HR Business Partnering Act as the first point of contact for employees and General Managers on HR-related matters. Provide guidance on HR policies, procedures and South African employment legislation. Support General Managers with people management and organisational effectiveness. Assist with organisational structure reviews and workforce planning. Coordinate employee transfers, mobility administration and post-mobility integration activities. Provide strategic people advisory support to management on workforce, talent and organisational matters. 2. Talent Acquisition & Onboarding Coordinate recruitment activities in accordance with company policies and procedures. Support General Managers throughout the recruitment and selection process. Manage onboarding and induction activities for new employees. Contribute to employer branding and talent attraction initiatives. 3. Employee Relations & Engagement Support the resolution of employee relations matters. Assist with disciplinary, grievance and performance-related processes. Promote positive employee engagement and workplace culture. Drive employee engagement initiatives and monitor employee experience indicators. Ensure the consistent application of HR policies and procedures. 4. Performance & Talent Management Coordinate annual performance appraisal processes. Support succession planning and talent review discussions. Monitor performance management actions and development plans. Facilitate career development discussions and employee growth initiatives. 5. Learning & Development Identify training and development needs. Coordinate relevant local and international training programmes. Support the implementation of company learning and development initiatives. Monitor training effectiveness and employee participation. 6. Compensation, Benefits & HR Administration Support salary reviews, performance-based reward processes and remuneration benchmarking exercises. Assist with benefits administration and annual remuneration reviews. Maintain accurate employee records, HR documentation and HR system data. 7. HR Compliance & Reporting Ensure compliance with South African labour legislation and internal company policies. Prepare HR reports, analytics and management information. Support internal and external audits as required. Ensure HR practices remain aligned with applicable legislation and organisational standards. 8. HR Projects & Collaboration Participate in HR projects, transformation initiatives and organisational programmes. Support the implementation of HR frameworks, standards and programmes. Collaborate with HR, Corporate and Business Unit stakeholders on cross-functional HR solutions. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the HR function. 9. Mobility & Talent Development Support international mobility, secondment and localisation initiatives. Coordinate employee transfers, mobility administration and post-mobility integration where required. Contribute to employee engagement, DEI, mobility and talent development initiatives. Support the development of organisational HR capability. 10. Digital HR, Analytics & Continuous Improvement Promote the effective utilisation of HR systems and related HR technologies. Identify opportunities to improve HR processes through automation, AI and digital HR technologies. Utilise HR analytics to support evidence-based decision-making. Contribute to compensation, mobility and digital HR transformation initiatives. Strong knowledge of recruitment, talent acquisition, employee relations and workplace investigations. Experience in performance management, talent management and organisational development. Knowledge of HR systems, HR reporting and HR analytics. Understanding of compensation, benefits and remuneration benchmarking. Knowledge or exposure to international mobility, secondment and localisation processes. Understanding of digital HR transformation, automation and AI-enabled process improvement. Strong business acumen and the ability to understand organisational priorities. Effective stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills. Strong analytical, problem-solving and change-management capabilities. Ability to collaborate effectively within multicultural and cross-functional environments. High levels of professional integrity, confidentiality and sound judgement when handling sensitive HR matters. EXPERIENCE Minimum 8 years' progressive Human Resources experience . Experience across multiple HR disciplines, including: Recruitment and talent acquisition Employee relations Performance management Learning and development HR operations Strong knowledge and practical application of South African employment legislation. Previous experience working within a multinational environment . Experience contributing to broader HR initiatives and projects. Exposure to HRIS platforms, HR analytics and reporting tools. Ability to manage day-to-day HR responsibilities while simultaneously contributing to strategic and cross-functional HR initiatives. EDUCATION Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification in: Human Resources Industrial Psychology Business Administration or a related field. Professional HR certification would be advantageous. REMUNERATION & BENEFITS Salary: R40,000 – R60,000 per month Additional Benefits Include: Fringe benefits, including a car allowance 50% Medical Aid contribution 7% Pension contribution Commuting allowance Discretionary performance-related bonuses: Performance bonus, payable in July and equivalent to approximately one month's salary where applicable. Annual bonus, payable in December and equivalent to approximately one month's salary.
