HR Practitioner
Location: Durban

We are looking for an experienced HR Practitioner to join our team, responsible for managing payroll, employee benefits, and supporting best-practice HR processes that foster employee engagement and operational efficiency. This role combines strong technical knowledge (especially in Sage 300 People) with a hands-on approach to compliance, reporting, and employee support.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll & Remuneration
- Manage the end-to-end payroll and benefits process across multiple entities.
- Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing, including data validation and approvals.
- Support remuneration reviews, incentive schemes, and pay scale updates.
- Resolve payroll and benefits-related queries efficiently.
HR & Payroll Systems (Sage 300 People)
- Maintain and optimize the Sage 300 People HR, Payroll, and Self-Service modules.
- Ensure system data accuracy and train users where required.
- Identify and implement opportunities for automation and process improvement.
Benefits Administration
- Assist employees in understanding and managing medical aid, provident fund, and other benefit offerings.
- Coordinate with third-party providers and process all changes for payroll alignment.
Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare and submit statutory reports (e.g., ROE, IRP5, interim reconciliations).
- Compile monthly and ad hoc reports for HR and business use.
- Support internal and external audits with accurate documentation.
General HR Support
- Handle employee and manager HR queries confidentially and professionally.
- Assist in policy updates, training coordination, wellness initiatives, and team events.
- Ensure compliance with labour legislation (BCEA, LRA, etc.) and HR best practices.
Requirements
- Relevant HR qualification.
- 5+ years’ experience in payroll, benefits, and remuneration.
- Proficiency in Sage 300 People (HR, Payroll, Self-Service) is essential.
- Solid understanding of statutory compliance and labour laws.
- Strong Excel and general MS Office skills.
- Excellent communication, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability.
