POSITION INFO:

Our dynamic, Hout Bay based client is a rapidly growing company in the heart of the fishing industry dedicated to operational excellence and the fishing community. We’re seeking a skilled and experienced HR and Payroll Administrator to contribute to their commitment to excellence.

Duties:

Coordinate onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring compliance and smooth transitions
Support the implementation and communication of company HR policies and procedures
Monitor compliance with labour legislation, including BCEA, COIDA, and sector-specific regulations
Act as the first point of contact for employee payroll and HR-related queries, escalating where necessary
Process full payroll for all related companies
Complete reports and submit all statutory returns (monthly and annual), including PAYE, UIF, SDL, IRP5, and other internal and external reports
Maintain employment contracts and employee records
Monitor and maintain attendance systems; experience with electronic timekeeping will be an advantage
Assist with Workmen’s Compensation claims
Prepare and process disciplinary and grievance documentation as required by management and IR consultants

Requirements:

Strong knowledge of labour legislation and its practical application
Comfortable working with external consultants and internal stakeholders on HR initiatives
Proficient in Sage VIP Payroll
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Minimum 5 years’ experience in payroll administration and HR
Self-managed and able to work independently
Proficient in Microsoft Excel
Able work in Hout Bay, Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Experience in the fishing industry will be an advantage

Remuneration:

Salary: R30,000 – R35,000 per month
