SUMMARY:
An established agrochemical manufacturer is seeking the above to advise and support the site leadership in all HSE matters, implementing policies, directives, procedures, guidelines, trainings and other supporting materials, ensuring full support and understanding of the HSE programs, goals and objectives.
POSITION INFO:
Minimum requirements for the role:
- Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental, Safety, Health or related
- An additional degree in Engineering or Agriculture will be advantageous
- At least 5 years’ experience as HSE Manager or similar level will be required
- Must have knowledge of Country Legislations, Compliance and Certified Management Systems (ISO/OHSAS)
- Strong leadership, networking, communication and motivational skills are essential
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Delivering high standards HSE competence to facilitate legal compliance and best practice.
- Ensuring continuous improvement of the HSE performance at the site.
- Working closely with the HSE Head and HSE Experts to accomplish objectives articulated in the HSE roadmap for the region.
- Organising and leading HSE activities, meetings and training to ensure an understanding of HSE programs and procedures.
- Implementing the actions defined for the business/ function master plan to all sites.
- Coordinating and improving the hazard recognition and coaching process at the site.
- Performing internal audits, documenting results and following-up on action plans.
- Monitoring country legal requirements.
- Conducting incident investigations in a qualitative manner and sharing relevant incidents with all relevant stakeholders.
- Reporting progress to the site leadership, using appropriate performance indicators and management review processes.
- Interacting with site supervisors and workers to get their full support and understanding of programs, goals and objectives.
- Networking with other sites in the region to seek the best practices available.
- Participating in regional networks and contributing to regional or sub-regional projects.
- Recognising gaps in early stages to take the proper preventive action and provide solutions.
