HSEQ / ISO Manager - Chemical Manufacturing / Distribution Industry

SUMMARY:
A well-established international speciality chemical supplier requires the above to oversee the safety, health, environmental and quality aspects of the business, whilst driving initiatives to implement and maintain ISO standards.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum requirements for the role:

• Tertiary qualification in SHEQ or a related field is essential.
• Previous experience having worked in both health and safety, and ISO, having a commercial drive and analytical mindset with good interpersonal skills is essential.
• Previous experience having worked within the chemical, food or pharmaceutical manufacturing or related manufacturing or distribution industries is preferred.
• Previous experience having implemented and audited new and existing systems is essential.
• Previous experience having worked on ISO 9001 and 2001 safety environmental quality systems is essential.
• Knowledge and understanding of good distribution practices is essential.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:   

• Overseeing, supporting and promoting awareness to internal personnel with the implementation of the company’s HSEQ policies, procedures and principles.
• Managing internal and external audits and other performance evaluation activities.
• Overseeing all incidents and accidents as well as liaising with registration bodies, customers and suppliers when necessary to resolve any related problems.
• Providing guidance on local legislative and regulation updates ensuring compliance.
• Overseeing, implementing and maintaining the quality management MySTEM accreditations.
• Managing and keeping up to date on all HSEQ related documentations such as permits, licenses, risk assessments and audit reports.
• Distributing safety data sheets pro-actively to the company’s customers and warehouses.
• Facilitating external supplier and regulatory authority audits.
• Overseeing and providing support to the other African companies.

Salary package, including benefits, are highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
