Position Summary
 
Provide technical support, in designated area, with regard to planned preventative and reactive maintenance on plant and equipment, within the service level requirements (Electrical / Millwright / Welder / HVAC / Mechanical).

POSITION INFO:
Key Accountabilities or Principal Responsibilities Primary Duties Perform semi-skilled technical assistance to Technician in designated area: Provide support with planned maintenance Provide support with fault finding Provide support with installations Laying cables in trenches, ducts and racks, including the securing of such cables Cleaning of machinery Greasing and oiling machinery Assist with moving objects and equipment Changing wheels on equipment Assist in keeping the workshop tidy and presentable at all times Carry out reasonable semi-skilled labour requests as required in designated area Ensure that all tools used are well maintained, and the correct tools are used for the relevant trade Adhere to the companies' policies, protocols and procedures Ensure compliance to Occupational Health and Safety Act It should be noted that, for operational reasons, it may be necessary to perform tasks other than those described herein from time to time. Prescribed procedures may be amended by management as and when required. Key Skills and Experience Grade 12 Min 3-year experience performing minor maintenance and repairs at a semi-skilled level Knowledge and good understanding of applicable Health & Safety regulations and procedures Willing and flexible to work extended hours and\/or outside of normal working hours where required Knowledge of tools and material used in assigned area of responsibility Valid driver's licence (Code 8) People and Management Skill Good communication skills both written and verbal Excellent customer relation skills Good people skills Understand and follow oral and written instructions Energetic Punctual and Reliable Well-motivated and team-orientated Friendly, polite and helpful when dealing with customers Service orientated Able to act quickly and calmly in emergency situations Ability and willingness to learn Key Result Areas Understand role of reporting to the business and client Understand all outputs delivered are aligned with business requirements Understand that feedback is critical to success Values \/ Behavioural Open Communication Teamwork Accountability Respect Caring Additional Responsibilities and Skills The employee acknowledges that all duties performed will reflect on the client and will thus act in a professional manner at all times, as FMS is a service provider, all necessary steps need to be taken to ensure that the service has been delivered according to client requirements, and to prescribed service levels.
