POSITION INFO:
HVAC TECHNICIAN (QUALIFIED) / PORT ELIZABETH - The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems across residential, commercial, and/or industrial sites. This role requires strong technical knowledge, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to customer satisfaction.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
Relevant HVAC certification or diploma (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ Level 2/3, EPA certification for refrigerant handling, or equivalent).
Proven experience minimum 3 years working with HVAC systems.
Knowledge of electrical systems as related to HVAC units.
Valid driver's license
Experience using tools, meters, and testing equipment related to HVAC maintenance and repair.
Install, service, and repair HVAC systems including air conditioners, furnaces, ventilation units, heat pumps, and refrigeration systems.
Perform routine preventative maintenance and system diagnostics.
Inspect HVAC systems and components for proper functioning, identifying hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair.
Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to determine system layouts and installation procedures.
Ensure compliance with local HVAC codes, safety regulations, and company standards.
Communicate effectively with clients regarding job status, system issues, and recommendations.
Maintain accurate service records, reports, and documentation.
Respond to emergency service calls as required.
