Hatchery Operations Manager

SUMMARY:
The DOC & Operations Manager will be responsible for meeting the company’s budgeted volume requirement of excellent quality chicks, at a budget cost, as well as management of the supply chain between the respective external DOC suppliers to ultimately support the Agri Departments overall budgeted KPI’s on broiler production.

POSITION INFO:

Duties:

- Day old chicks produced to budget

- Hatch percentage achieved to budget

- Mortality of Fertile to budget

- Maintain hygiene standards

- Uphold Chick Quality Standards

- Control of incoming egg levels to optimize production, including egg requirements

- Constant communication with farmers about placement and operations

- Management of egg supply to fill sets for Northern operations

- Manage and update the Northern Supply Chain through critical liaison between DOC Suppliers

Requirements:

- A tertiary qualification in a commercial or agricultural field is required

- 5 years’ operational, managerial and experience or experience in Hatchery Management and Quality systems and associated operations

- Excellent knowledge of all aspects of poultry production methods

- Experience in Supply Chain and operations and dealing with live stock

- Great degree of knowledge of all aspects of Poultry physiology and embryology
