Head Chef | Knysna | Luxury Hotel and Spa
Our client is currently seeking the expertise of an experienced HEAD CHEF to join the culinary team of this Luxury Hotel and Spa. They are in Knysna, South Africa’s legendary Garden Route, set in the lush paradise of ancient indigenous forests, mountains, lakes and pristine beached.
Minimum requirements:
- Grade 12
- Certificate/Diploma in Culinary Arts
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the same or similar position
- Familiar with all legislature and amendments with regards to the Kitchen
- First Aid Certificate
- Valid fire Marshall and Evacuation certificate

- Coaching and mentoring
Duties and Responsibilities will include the following:
- Admin
- Food quality and presentation
- Reporting and communication
- Managing HACCP Standards and maintaining the standards
- Financial control – wastage/budgets etc
- Management/controls of personnel files
- SOP’S and policies
- Discipline
- Resume responsibility of the Duty Manager, when not on duty (as most senior person on the property)
Starting Date: ASAP
Salary: ZAR 20 – 23 000 CTC
