Head: Communications

SUMMARY:
A leader in its industry is currently seeking for an experienced Communication specialist to join their team.
The main function of this role is to drive strategic brand management, marketing and communications related to all internal and external communication, marketing, public relations and stakeholder engagement in support of the growth strategy.

POSITION INFO:
The successful applicant duties include but is not limited to:

• Implement and monitor effectiveness of asset manager / portfolio mandate structure and strategy for a specific portfolio
• Delivering on the Strategic Communication Agenda – internal and external
• Plan the marketing and communications content for specific areas and for different audiences – members, clients, investors
• Media relations and external communications management
• Drive high standards, efficiency and continuous improvement in the Brand and Communication function and practices
• People Leadership - Manage planning of resource requirements, ensure sufficient capable resources are in place to meet service delivery demands, maintaining the effective and efficient capability of the department.
• Annual Budgets / Financial Management - Manage the Marketing & Communications budget and ensure programme milestones related to marketing & communications are achieved on time and within budget

• Honours Degrees and Professional qualifications in the field of public relations, communication, marketing, journalism or related discipline.
• 10 years job-related experience, which should include at least 3 years’ experience in a strategic leadership role.
• Significant experience in working with various communication tools and channels, data analytics, branding, visual communication software and public relations
• Successful track record of managing new media and digital channels, including website development
• Demonstrated ability to manage reputational risk
• Solid professional experience required in producing digital content and written communications for targeted audiences
