SUMMARY:

• Guest Guiding and Experiences
  
  • Lead guests on safaris, nature walks, and other outdoor activities, ensuring a safe, educational, and enjoyable experience.
  • Share in-depth knowledge of local wildlife, ecosystems, and conservation efforts.
• Team Leadership and Supervision
  
  • Supervise and support a team of field guides or junior guides, ensuring consistency in service quality and safety.
  • Schedule shifts, assign duties, and assist in staff development and training.
• Training and Mentorship
  
  • Provide training in guiding skills, guest interaction, wildlife interpretation, and safety protocols.
  • Mentor trainee guides and assess their readiness for independent guiding.
• Guest Interaction and Service
  
  • Engage with guests professionally, answer questions, and tailor experiences to guest interests and needs.
  • Resolve any issues or special requests related to excursions or activities.
• Safety and Risk Management
  
  • Ensure all excursions follow strict safety procedures.
  • Conduct risk assessments and emergency preparedness drills.
• Vehicle and Equipment Oversight
  
  • Monitor the maintenance and cleanliness of game drive vehicles, binoculars, rifles (if applicable), and other guiding equipment.
• Conservation and Environmental Stewardship
  
  • Promote conservation principles and responsible tourism practices.
  • Report environmental concerns or wildlife sightings to management or research teams.
• Liaison with Management
  
  • Communicate guest feedback, wildlife activity, and operational needs to lodge or operations management.
  • Assist with activity planning and guest itinerary coordination.
• Administrative Duties
  
  • Keep records of sightings, guide logs, vehicle checks, and incident reports.
  • Ensure compliance with all guiding regulations and licensing.
