Are you a dynamic, results-driven professional with a passion for investments and intermediary relationships? A leading financial services provider is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive growth and deepen partnerships in the Johannesburg and surrounding regions.

POSITION INFO:

Are you an experienced actuarial leader ready to shape the future of life insurance? This is your opportunity to lead a high-performing actuarial function, drive strategic initiatives, and influence decision-making across multiple markets.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead actuarial reporting for management and statutory purposes, including valuations, EV, VNB, and solvency calculations
Oversee asset-liability management and experience analyses
Ensure robust actuarial governance and compliance with regulatory standards
Drive strategic input into budgeting, profitability management, and risk monitoring
Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across multiple markets
Provide leadership, talent development, and succession planning within the actuarial function

Job Experience and Skills Required:
Fellow of an Actuarial Society (or equivalent)
Minimum 5 years post-qualification experience in financial services
Extensive experience in IFRS 17 valuations, EV, VNB, and solvency frameworks
Proven track record in managing complex life insurance environments
Deep understanding of life insurance actuarial valuations and products
Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Excellent leadership and stakeholder management capabilities
Ability to inspire teams and drive change
High integrity, resilience, and adaptability
