POSITION INFO:
Short Term Insurance Executive with minimum 5 years’ experience in a head/senior management role within the short term insurance claims environment, required to head up the Claims & Procurement function for this National Insurer based in Cape Town.
Minimum requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business / Finance or similar field required
- Minimum 10 years’ short term insurance experience required
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a head/senior management role essential
- Experience in managing and developing contracts and relationships with vendors required
- Experience in procurement and contracting required
- Claims management experience essential
- Experience in basic contracting principles and practices such as tendering, subcontracting, outsourcing management required
- Analytical skills using qualitative and quantitative data required
Responsibilities:
- Head up Claims and Procurement function
- Develop claims and procurement strategy
- Manage total claims value chain, incorporating procurements
- Improvement of processes
- Redefining processes and procedures to optimise claims and procurement efficiencies
- Improve operational effectiveness
- Manage and develop team
- Coaching and mentoring team
- Develop procurement, vendor management and agreement procedures and guidelines
- Monitor SLA’s with service providers
- Research potential vendors of products and services and create database of current and potential vendors
- Review and monitor performance of Service Providers on monthly basis
- Develop and manage tools for the monitoring of external and internal contracts
- Risk management re contracts
- Lead contractual negotiations with selected providers and develop specialised tenders and contracts
- Resolve complaints from Brokers and clients
- Manage external and internal relationships
