Head of Corporate Affairs and Transformation (Mining)- Gauteng

SUMMARY:
In working for a well established mining Group, the successful candidate would be required to drive Transformation and Human Resource initiatives, while monitoring compliance in accordance with company strategy and statutory requirements.

POSITION INFO:

• Identify and address issues that create barriers to Transformation

• Establish Business Unit & Corporate structures and forums to identify and address Transformation issues

• Build internal capacity and transfer skills within the organisation

• Ensure that the Transformation Function meets principles of sound Corporate Governance

• Demonstrate knowledge of the Roles and Responsibilities of Tribal/Traditional Authorities

• Demonstrate understanding of the principles of Cultural and Traditional set ups

• Ensure compliance of Business Units to Social Labour Plan targets as per the Mining Charter and DTI Score (EE, Women In Mining, etc.)

• Monitor, keep up to date and develop guidelines regarding changes in Legislation

• Comply with the relevant HR Legislation (Labour Relations Act, Traditional authorities Act, EE Act, Skills Development Act, etc.)

• Provide information and advice regarding legislation that may impact community engagement, policies and issues

• Compile EE Strategy and ensure continuous alignment to Legislation

• Compile monthly, quarterly and annual Transformation Reports

• Report bi-annually progress on LED/CSI/ED within our surrounding communities through brochures

• Identify and assess level of issue based risk exposures in the area of responsibility by considering exposures to business, financial, legal issues, people, equipment, material, environment, processes, etc.

• Consider the level of risk, apply mitigation and implement control measures for residual risk (set objectives, minimum requirements, etc.)

• Manage SHEQ compliance within the Department/Section through effective use of the Toolbox

• Utilise the Information Management System (IMS) to analyse, identify trends, initiate, mitigate, investigate and report SHEQ status

• Maintain and improve relationships with key stakeholders

• Ensure customer satisfaction

• Maintain and improve relationships with key suppliers

• Compile monthly, quarterly and annual Transformation Reports

• Report bi-annually progress on LED/CSI/ED within our surrounding communities through brochures
