SUMMARY:
Head of HRBP operates in the most complex environments where they are required to provide recommendations on the design and implementation of human resource strategies and act as a consultative partner to assigned business groups. Required to support the implementation and delivery of HR services as they relate to the HR strategic and overall business objectives.

POSITION INFO:

Key Performance Areas
  • Working in collaboration with a senior business leader and the HR team to develop and grow a scaleable organisation model that supports and delivers against the long-term growth strategy of the business.
  • Act as the architect that facilitates and drives the change necessary to support long-term business growth.
  • Identify medium/long term business challenges and needs and translate them into commercially focused people strategies which support the delivery of the business strategy. 
  • Understand the growth cycle of the specific business area and develop/embed strategies to enable successful growth/change.
  • Develop and grow leadership capability and effectiveness through challenging, coaching and mentoring business leaders on business and people issues to ensure they perform more effectively as leaders and as an overall business.
  • Support, provide insight to and partner with HR Centres of Excellence to develop and drive:
    • The talent acquisition strategy to ensure the group identifies, attracts, hires and retains the best talent in the market, using prescribed processes, systems and models to do so.
    • The talent management strategy to ensure the group provides the appropriate development interventions to drive growth, retention, capability, productivity and engagement at all levels to achieve business objectives.
    • The compensation and benefits strategy to ensure the group remains competitive, applies best practice and drives pay for performance across the organization implementing programmes and initiatives from all CoE’s as appropriate.
  • Promote and nurture a positive and open working environment that supports the groups values and provides the tools and framework that encourage open and effective employee communications and relations.
  • Drive the development and use of analytics across all customer groups to support data-driven business decision-making and outcomes.
  • Ensure that group-wide HR policies and practices are implemented in an appropriate way for the business and in line with best practice (taking account of local legal and cultural requirements) and recommend changes as appropriate.
  • Contribute to project activity on a country, functional, regional or global basis, as required.
  • Contribute as a valued and credible member of the HR team and regional/country/global leadership team to ensure that the group applies the values and culture to support the achievement of overall business strategy and objectives.
  • Support the adoption of new technology in the business, such as employee and manager self-service, etc.
  • Manage the balance between strategic elements of the role, driving operational excellence, and execution to ensure strong overall delivery.
  • Drive and pro-actively manage change within and across the organisation, ensuring the identification of key stakeholders, core messaging, timing and implementation.
  • Participate in and manage the workforce planning process for your business area.
  • Provides mentorship and coaching to developing HR business partners.
  • Diagnoses and delivers full talent interventions (quality, diversity, depth) to meet business requirements and embeds core talent management processes.
  • Champion of all the HR tools, platforms and systems available to support and enable their teams and stakeholders, identifying opportunities for the use of technology in improving the delivery of services.
  • Monitors emerging trends in the future of work and advises on the creation of value-add services to the business.

 

Requirements

  • Advanced Degree in Human Resources or Industrial Psychology
  • Agile HR certification advantageous
  • Certified Human Resources Business Partner CHRBP advantageous
  • Substantial experience of employment law with compliance awareness, CCMA experience and expertise.
  • Substantial experience in similar human resources positions.
  • Significant track record developing and implementing policy, experienced in implementing HR strategy.
  • Solid track record of designing and driving change and transformation in the business.
  • Seasoned HR professional with good track record of delivery of best-in-class HR in complex growth companies.
  • In-depth experience working in partnership with a range of stakeholders including managers, trade unions, employees and external partners.
  • Substantial experience delivering strategic priorities within strict timelines.
  • Solid experience implementing workforce plans that reflect organisational/departmental need.
  • Significant experience in working closely with a variety of internal and external stakeholders at different levels in the business.
  • Adept in HR technologies including experience in HRIS, LMS, and e-Recruitment systems.
  • Solid experience with HR metrics.
