SUMMARY:
Leading online retailer is seeking a top marketing professional (Head of Marketing) to help scale the business and continue their journey of innovation.
This role is best suited to an entrepreneurial leader who will embrace the change inherent in a fast-growing organisation.

R55 000 - R65 000 CTC pm (including 50% medical aid) | CBD, CPT based (2 days work from home per week) | Start ASAP | Permanent position

Role and responsibilities

  • Own all advertising, brand and growth activities for the company
  • Achieve commercial goals of the business - order volume and revenue growth targets, along with related customer acquisition, retention and frequency of shop goals
  • Customer acquisition. Develop a thorough understanding of our customers to optimise customer acquisition spend, customer lifetime value and growth across channels
  • Brand leadership. Refine and tell our compelling brand story. Help set us apart in the hearts and minds of our customers
  • Digital performance marketing. Steer your team to continuously improve ROI on digital marketing spend
  • Support your team to implement and optimise personalisation, automation and data-driven customer lifecycle interventions, such as interventions and messages triggered by segments and lifecycle events, across email, social media, chat, push, loyalty programmes, etc., to retain and re-engage users
  • Drive the marketing and promotional calendar, for internal use as well as for supplier partnerships and promotional campaigns
  • Oversee corporate partnerships. Negotiate trade exchange deals and partnership deals with 3rd parties to generate cost effective exposure and customer acquisition
  • Be a thought leader for the UI/UX of digital channels (website, mobile, customer support), working closely with the Product Owner and tech team
  • Oversee the in-house creative team to deliver highly effective static and video ads, rapidly and cost-effectively
  • Manage marketing supplier and brand relationships such as with paid spend channels, social networks, programmatic providers, influencers, corporates, NGOs and our CSI initiatives

Requirements
  • Relevant tertiary qualification
  • 5+ years of experience in relevant marketing roles, such as in e-commerce, FMCG/ consumer goods or retail
  • 3+ years of people leadership experience, and a proven ability to get the best out of a team of highly motivated professionals
  • A track record of having managed and grown a brand
  • Strong technical knowledge of brand and marketing best practices
  • Experience with digital marketing (Google, social media, etc)
  • Analytical approach to marketing, able to deeply engage with ROIs, CACs, CLVs and similar metrics to support data driven decisions and running a numbers-oriented marketing function
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail balanced with an ability to act strategically
  • Cultural fit for a fast-moving and high-performance, but also informal and non-hierarchical organisation
