Head of Production - Please read ad carefully before submitting application

Our client, a prestigious niche and luxury consumer goods production and assembly company, seeks to employ a goal driven, experienced and entrepreneurial professional, to assume a Head of Production and Operations, at their plant in Cape Town.

We are seeking a candidate with exceptional business acumen, who is financially competent and is able to not only managed a fast paced and diverse production facility but who has managed general management aspects, change management within the plant. Our ideal candidate will either have been a General Manager with the focus on Production or have managed their own production plant as an entrepreneur.

The focus of this role is that the company manufactures their own portfolio of goods and will be diversifying to manufacture similar products on behalf of customers looking to source from a local supplier, therefore business acumen and implementation of production change management is essential

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS TO MEET FOR CONSIDERATION:

• You will have a Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain or Operations Management, plus a business management qualification (MBA or related) coupled with 10+ years experience in the production sector, with preference to candidates who have worked in the processing of soft metals, such as pewter, stainless steel and aluminum, or who have worked in homeware and consumer goods.
• You will have a solid track record in implementing processes to improve production, reduce waste, improve quality and ensure the morale of the team is positive and motivated
• You will have an above average understanding of assembling metal products, ensuring safety at all times and enforcing the company’s policies and procedures are upheld and reflected in the final products
• You will have an overall understanding of retail planning and supply, having good interpersonal skills to ensure cross functional department relationships are maintained.
• You will be a natural leader, an achiever of goals and objectives and a problem solver, who motivates the team and communicates effectively
• A working knowledge of ERP system such as Syspro or SAP is essential
• A clear criminal and credit record is essential and verifications will be conducted.
