DUR002104 – Head of Quality, Health, Safety, and Security– Umhlanga

Purpose of the job
 
To drive quality, health, safety and security risk management, technical food safety, occupational health and safety, and quality and security compliance across the Group at both a strategic and operational level to ensure that the Group maintains the relevant certification, drives continuous improvement and meets legislative, regulatory, client and performance standards and compliance requirements.

Required Qualifications:

1. Relevant tertiary qualification, preferably related to economics, environmental management, health, and safety and/or quality management.

POSITION INFO:
Technical Competencies & Responsibilities

1. Minimum 12 years’ experience in a suitable environment, including food safety, with at least 5 years in a management role.
2. Knowledge of ISO 9001, 45001, 14001, 22000.
3. Strategy Execution: Set the overall business quality, safety, health, and security direction through the creation of a multi-pronged strategy to drive compliance and performance.
4. Risk Management: Monitor critical quality, safety, health, and security control measures, oversee audits, and handle statutory reporting and legal compliance.
5. Integrated Quality Systems Management: Establish and maintain quality and safety systems and standards, oversee audits, and drive resolution of non-conformances.
6. Strategic Technical Contribution: Provide technical assistance and support, act as a thought leader, and define Group quality assurance policies.
7. Operational Management: Ensure effective safety and security coverage, drive initiatives to reduce illegal activities, and promote safe and healthy work practices.
8. Reporting: Prepare annual management reports, engage with internal stakeholders, and develop external and internal communication programs.
9. Supplier Quality Assurance: Manage the Supplier Quality Assurance Program, oversee risk assessments and audits, and report supplier risks.
10. Compliance Inspections and Audits: Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and security standards through audits and inspections.
11. MUST BE WILLING TO DO EXTENSIVE TRAVELLING.
