SUMMARY:
The primary objective of the Head of Talent Acquisition is to enable and oversee the execution of the talent acquisition strategy. This position contributes to the development of the talent acquisition strategy with internal executive management. This individual provides direction to the talent acquisition teams by overseeing the co-ordination of talent acquisition activities.

POSITION INFO:

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Sets the talent acquisition strategy by working closely with the Chief People Officer, team and business decision makers.
  • Advises on development of recruitment plans and programs as a strategic partner with particular input on the impact of attraction and retention in across all our divisions.
  • Review and authorise talent policies, procedures, plans and programs developed by direct reports.
  • Provide direction and directives to a middle level team of individuals in performance of their duties, by establishing work priorities and achieving management initiatives.
  • Interface at executive level across our divisions and interested parties, including partners, business leaders, key influencers, and decision makers.
  • Develop and own the operational budget.
  • Provide leadership and consulting support to executives and senior management.
  • Oversee the execution of talent acquisition processes, and continually assess the competitiveness of all programs and practices against relevant comparable companies, industries and markets.
  • Work with respective HR business partners and the recruitment specialists to enable the implementation of plans and programs to identify talent within and outside the organisation and contribute to talent management, learning and development and business development programs.
  • Drive the thought leadership agenda for the organisation on matters related to recruitment and staffing.
  • Identify and evaluate fundamental issues relating to talent acquisition and take responsibility for the delivery of projects relating to the improvement of recruitment and staffing practices in the business across all our divisions.
  • Drive the talent acquisition culture by sharing best practices, developing and sustaining cross functional relationships and filtering information downwards.
  • Enable business processes by ensuring the candidate experience is aligned to the desired company values and culture, automating process and policy and best practice recruitment systems and that the function has the required competence and tools to support activities related to attraction, sourcing, advertising (esp. social media platforms), assessing, selecting, appointing and professional onboarding.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:

  • Sound experience in employment law, remuneration, organisational planning, organisation development, employee relations, safety, training, and preventive labour relations.
  • Demonstrate industry related knowledge of recruitment trends, candidate availability and salaries for these functions.
  • Deep understanding of business talent requirements and solid recruitment and legislative knowledge.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Demonstrate coaching and mentoring skills.
  • Practice two-way communication and display good verbal and written communication ability.
  • Display an ability to exercise the appropriate discretion when working with confidential and sensitive matters and information.
  • Display good attention to detail and able to manage work processes.
  • Demonstrate the ability to present information accurately and clearly, engaging with a variety of audiences in the business.
  • Display a good level of strategic thinking ability and good specialist knowledge.
  • Individual should possess the ability to maintain integrity, display reliability and use well-developed interpersonal skills to interact with individuals across all levels in the business.
  • Demonstrate the ability to collaborate with business leaders and team managers at a strategic and tactical level.
  • Possess ongoing affiliations with leaders in successful companies and organisations that practice effective human resources management.
  • Has the creative ability to build out attraction strategies which focus on new ways of working and skills of the future.

 

Requirements

  • Advanced Degree.
  • Relevant certifications.
  • Significant experience in similar role within a related environment.
  • Proven progressive leadership experience in talent acquisitions positions.
  • Substantial strategic planning experience but operationally able to execute.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement experience at all levels in the organisation.
  • Contact centre or ICT experience advantageous.
