Job & Company Description:

A well-known company in the mining industry is searching for a Head of Ventilation that is extensively experienced in this field. This company produces platinum group metals, and they pride themselves with their high performance and corporate governance standards. The desired candidate is someone that is well-seasoned in the Ventilation field, and they will be expected to develop and maintain ventilation across the group, they will also be responsible for the health and safety in the mine.

Education:

BTech/BEng in Mining (essential)
Chamber of Mine’s Certificate in Mine Environment Control (essential)
A member of the SA Institute for Occupation Hygiene or Mine Ventilation Society (advantageous)

Job Experience & Skills Required:

Around 10 years of working experience in underground hard rock mining
Must have knowledge of business strategies and finance
Must have knowledge of Occupational Health, Mine Health, and Safety Act
Must have knowledge of ventilation planning, fire prevention and control, and risk assessment
