SUMMARY:
Health & Safety Coordinator

POSITION INFO:

A leading engineering/manufacturing organisation is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Coordinator to support SHEQ compliance, drive safety culture, and ensure effective implementation of the company’s Health & Safety Management System.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct daily site walks, inspections, and safety audits
Identify hazards and enforce corrective/preventive actions
Monitor adherence to safe work procedures across operations
Maintain and update H&S policies, procedures, registers, and risk assessments
Lead incident investigations and root-cause analysis
Coordinate emergency response plans, drills, and compliance training
Analyse safety data and trends to support continuous improvement
Work with HR on injury-on-duty processes and reporting

Requirements

Grade 12 (Matric)
SAMTRAC / PSIRA / relevant Health & Safety qualification
5+ years’ experience in a similar role (engineering or manufacturing preferred)
Solid understanding of OHS legislation and industry standards
Experience managing a Health & Safety Management System
Strong skills in risk assessments, incident investigations, and emergency response
