Health & Safety Officer

SUMMARY:
Our client a leader in Red and White Meat Manufacturing in City Deep requires a Safety Officer

POSITION INFO:

Educational Background

Matric

Qualification in Safety Management 

Minimum 3 years in same or similar role

Key functions will be

Arrange Health and safety training (hyster, h&S reps, firefighter ect)

-Do appointment letters for Health and safety training

-Responsible for all H&S audits and preps

-Plan and implement OHS policies and programmes

-Advise and lead employees on various Safety topics

-Review existing policies and procedures

-Adhere to all rules and regulations

-Work with HR to set up a new employee induction process for safety

-Conduct risk assessments

-Enforce preventative measures

-Identify process bottle necks and offer timely solutions

-Check if all employees are acting in accordance of rules and regulations

-Assist HOD''s to prepare and present reports on accidents and violations and determine causes

-Assist HOD''s to oversee all work that could harm employees'' safety

-Scheduling of maintenance and Health and Safety plans, reviews and follow ups
