SUMMARY:
The Supervisor Health & Safety is accountable for partnering with Business Partners, operational leadership and their teams to assess the application, completeness and quality of operational health and safety management systems, processes, policies, procedures and standards. The incumbent is responsible to collaboratively develop plans and interventions to ensure compliance with prescribed regulations, operational standards and campaigns to ensure optimal and sustainable application of the safety management system.

Requirements:
- Grade 12 qualification or equivalent
- Degree/National Diploma in Health and Safety Management
- Trade Certificate or Blasting Certificate
- COMSOC 1 and 2 Certification
- Minimum 3 years’ trackless mining experience
- 15 years’ experience as safety specialist emphasizing contractor safe work practice leadership
- SACPCMP registration for construction safety
- Audit qualifications for NOSA, OHSAS 18001 & ISO 14001

POSITION INFO:
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Lead and engage in Safety meetings, forums, and engagements
- Represent Area of Accountability in Safety Department Briefings and Task Activity Sessions
- Participate in Developing, Planning, and Implementing on-site Safety Initiatives
- Prepare and Present safety topics for Dissemination
- Conduct Scheduled and ad hoc safety inspections and Compile reports
- Develop and Deliver Safety awareness training material
- Conduct Regular Safety Management System Assessments and ensure Compliance
- Facilitate Operational Risk Assessments and Maintain Risk Management Schedules
