Jou rol dek 'n wye reeks hortologiese dissiplines ten opsigte van kern- en steenvrugte: ·        Optimale Snoeipraktyke: Ontwikkeling en toepassing van moderne boomopleiding- en snoeitegnieke. ·        Fisiologiese Bestuur: Strategiese toepassing van rusbreekmiddels en chemiese uitdun vir optimale oeslading. ·        Groeireguleerders: Presisie-aanwending van plantgroeireguleerders om vrugkwaliteit, grootte en opbrengs te maksimeer. ·        Produsente-interaksie: Reël en koördinering van tegniese produsentetoere, studiegroepe en demonstrasiedae. ·        Veldwerk : Gereelde plaasbesoeke en monitering van diverse produksiegebiede. Key Responsibilities & Technical Focus As part of the team, you will provide technical advice to leading fruit producers. Your role will cover a broad range of horticultural disciplines relating to pome and stone fruit: Optimal Pruning Practices: Development and implementation of modern tree-training and pruning techniques. Physiological Management: Strategic application of dormancy-breaking agents and chemical thinning to optimise crop load. Plant Growth Regulators: Precision application of plant growth regulators to maximise fruit quality, size and yield. Producer Interaction: Organising and coordinating technical producer tours, study groups and demonstration days. Fieldwork: Regular farm visits and monitoring of diverse production areas. Operasionele Areas Die posisie dek van die mees vooruitstrewende vrugteverbouing-streke in die land: ·        EGVV-streek: Grabouw en Villiersdorp. ·        Ceres-streek: Koue Bokkeveld en Warm Bokkeveld. ·        Aanvullende Streke: Greyton, Langkloof, Tulbagh en Piketberg. Operational Areas The position covers some of the most advanced fruit-growing regions in South Africa: EGVV Region: Grabouw and Villiersdorp. Ceres Region: Koue Bokkeveld and Warm Bokkeveld. Additional Regions: Greyton, Langkloof, Tulbagh and Piketberg. Vereistes: BSc in Hortologie of 'n relevante Nagraadse Landbougraad. Afrikaans en Engels. Hardwerkend, leergierig, betroubaar, goeie kommunikasie en spanspeler. Bereidwilligheid om lang ure te werk gedurende piek-seisoene. Geldige rybewys en skoon rekord. Requirements: BSc in Horticulture or a relevant postgraduate agricultural degree. Afrikaans and English. Hardworking, eager to learn, reliable, good communication skills and a team player. Willingness to work long hours during peak seasons. Valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record.
