JOB SUMMARY:
To oversee all aspects of a 5* Star Boutique Hotel’s operational Systems and to secure the maximum in revenues and guest satisfaction while positioning the Hotel in a recognisable position in the marketplace. This is to be accomplished through training and the implementation of service standards with constant communication and feedback to the Company Directors/Owners. The Brand identity and projection thereof is a vital requirement and function of the position, and would have to filter through to all departments, property and staff at all times.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Managing the day-to-day operational procedures of the business, ensuring that all departments are in place and delivering the required operational services
  • Energetic, experienced, innovative, and a proactive individual with a well-developed concept of the importance of providing a world-class guest experience for all persons visiting the property.
  • Strong knowledge of Food & Beverage service
  • Must be able to cope under pressure to meet guests needs
  • To lead and develop all staff members in a respectful and empowering working environment.
  • To be fully accountable in the Health & Safety of the entire Hotel in line with the South African law
  • To work closely with the Head Chef ensuring all menus are correctly costed and in line with the Company budget
  • Monitoring all orders of all departmental requirements and working within the yearly budget allocation.
  • A passion for customer relations and a personal hands-on approach and ensuring an exceptional guest experience.
  • Checking of all rooms prior to the guest’s arrival, ensuring they are within the brand alignment and of the standard required.
  • Impeccable attention to detail
  • To be visible with all guests during their stay but respectful towards their privacy.
  • To be available if there are any discrepancies regarding a guests stay or experience at the hotel

REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS:

  • Relevant Management experience within a 5*Hotel/Property
  • Bilingual
  • Problem-solving aptitude
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Outstanding organizational & leadership skills
  • Confident and comfortable around affluent people
  • The ability to work long hours
  • The ability to step in where needed
