Housekeeper (Retail Environment)

SUMMARY:
A leading client in the Retail sector based in Pietermaritzburg is seeking to appoint a reliable and hardworking Housekeeper to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean, hygienic and safe environment within the store and surrounding areas, ensuring a pleasant shopping experience for customers and a productive workspace for staff.

POSITION INFO:

Key Responsibilities:

• Clean and maintain store floors, including sweeping, mopping, and polishing
• Ensure all windows, glass surfaces, and mirrors are clean and streak-free
• Dust, wipe, and sanitize shelves, displays, and fixtures
• Maintain cleanliness of parking areas and outside premises
• Empty bins and ensure proper waste disposal in line with company standards
• Clean and sanitize high-touch areas regularly (e.g. door handles, counters)
• Report any maintenance issues or damages to management
• Ensure cleaning equipment is used correctly and stored safely
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations at all times.

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 12 (Matric)
• Minimum of 1–2 years’ housekeeping/cleaning experience within a retail environment
• Good understanding of cleaning procedures and products
• Physically fit and able to perform manual duties
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good time management and reliability.
