SUMMARY:

POSITION INFO:

Human Resources:

  • Maintain all HR Policies Programs and Practices. (Develop, update and implement).
  • Maintain sound labour Relations with the workforce, discipline, mitigation of risk by addressing employee disputes and grievances and ensuring fairness in the workplace by providing effective HR support to all line managers.
  • Responsible for all recruitment, staff training and development, BBBEE and Employment Equity plans, Induction of new employees, conducting exit interviews and administration of medical surveillance.
  • Compiling monthly management reports on all required outputs.
  • Managing the negotiation of employment offers.
  • Managing the company performance management process

Payroll:

  • Managing the full life cycle of the company payroll administration
  • Bi-Annual IRP 5 reconciliation and submission
  • Responsible for the accounting function related to the payroll
  • Processing of monthly payroll journal in the general ledger
  • Reconciliation of the general ledger salary control accounts
  • Processing of bank reconciliation of salary accounts
  • Managing employee benefits
  • Compile annual salary budget, bench-marking and increases

Education, experience and competencies required

Accountability and responsibility:

  • Relevant B. Degree – Human resources Management
  • Minimum of 10 years experiences of which 5 years in a managerial capacity
  • Experience in Union and Bargaining Council negotiations required
  • Thorough working knowledge of the South African Labour environment and laws required
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication and negotiation skills
  • A people centered approach
  • Song administrative approach relevant to policies, practices and procedures
  • Able to maintain confidentiality
  • Above average knowledge of Sage VIP, Pastel Evolution, MS Word, Excel and Power Point

Involvement in the operation requires the following duties and responsibilities:

Accounting and responsibility:

  • Meeting all the required outputs as stipulated by the Job Guideline
  • Submit all statutory HR returns, WSP and EE Plan
  • Submit all statutory Payroll returns, PAYE, UIF and SDL on a monthly basis and WCA at year end
  • Ensure that all employee and employee related laws, policies and procedures are implemented and fully complied with
  • Represent the company at the CCMA

Maintaining Standards:

  • Constantly monitoring the smooth running of the HR Department
  • Custiodian of sound employee relations
  • Ensuring adherence to all relevant statutes, statutory bodies, rules and regulations, disciplinary code and staff employee manuals
