JOB SUMMARY:
Nelspruit Area – Mpumalanga: Our client is looking for an ICT Specialist to join the team.
Only candidates with the relevant experience will be considered.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Strong general IT proficiency
Experience with implementation and administration of farm management systems
Knowledge of agronomy and horticulture operations is required, specific avocado experience would be highly beneficial
Basic knowledge of Structured Databases
Data manipulation (including data extraction), analysis, and visualisation, including basic statistical analysis
Good interpersonal relationship management and communication skills
User support (for farming technology and farm management systems) and first line problem solving
Ability to explain and train concepts and processes to users
Clear oral and written communication in 1-1 and small-group settings
Driven and hard-working individual
Flexible attitude and open to change
Ability to work under own initiative and to strict deadlines
Used to working in a fast paced and busy environment
Professional attitude
Team player
Good leadership qualities
Displays integrity and can handle confidential data in a discreet and professional manner

RESPONSIBILITIES

Support implementation of farm management systems
Responsible for overall system administration and maintenance of farm management systems
End User Training
Documenting of SOPs for Farms operations
Coordinate with service providers for support where internal expertise is not sufficient
Participate in projects to evaluate different agricultural technology solutions, including on-farm activities such as technology installations and sample collection
Monitor and report on system and technology utilisation, and support end-users to use systems effectively
Evaluation of benefit from existing systems and technologies (deliver to user expectations), and identify and recommend areas for improvement
Analyse and generate reports
Visit grower partners and participate in technology implementations on their farms, including selected training and support of grower partners on the use of the relevant technology
Coordinate ICT activities with operations, post-harvest activities and technical teams in support of grower partners
