IFRS17 Specialist/Centurion, South Africa

We have an exciting opportunity available within the Corporate Actuarial Team. With the requirement to ensure that our financial reporting meets the IFRS17 standard comfortably by the implementation deadline, we are in search of a dynamic individual excited by the prospect of tackling something new, evolving and challenging.

The role is for an IFRS17 Specialist within the IFRS17 Implementation Project Team.

Job Description

The successful candidate would be responsible for:

Applying the requirements of the standard to context and documenting key decisions taken around methodology and interpretation

Maintaining and generating the Model Point Files, assumption and decrements needed for long term insurance and reinsurance runs

Adapting and maintaining the existing Prophet model to be in accordance with the IFRS17 requirements

Integrating data between Prophet and Risk Integrity

Integrating the new IFRS17 process, once established, with the existing monthly valuation process

Qualifications

has passed all actuarial exams, or is very close to completion

2 to 4 years work experience (Valuations/Reserving/Pricing are beneficial)

Has had substantial exposure to the IFRS17 standard

Is proficient in prophet with 1 to 2 years modelling experience?

Is willing to understand the business (Short term and Long term products as well as Reinsurance contracts held)

Is great with Excel and has strong analytical skills with good attention to detail

Is output driven and willing to get their hands dirty executing the practical necessities required to get retrospective and future results up and running
