INVENTORY PLANNER – FMCG (AA/EE) - CAPE TOWN

SUMMARY:

Responsible for the on-time placement of purchase orders and delivery of key raw materials and packaging inventory to meet Fresh Foods operational order requirements and maintain inventory levels within the approved guidelines.

POSITION INFO:

Key Performance Areas

• Purchasing of key imported and local raw materials, packaging, and non-stocked items.
• Reviewing forecast, purchase requirements and order schedules per manufacturing site.
• Signing off supplier order confirmations on order quantity, pricing, and other commercial attributes.
• Maintaining adequate inventory levels nationally as per mandate.
• Building and reviewing inventory reports and expediting open orders as necessary.
• Tracking of orders to delivery timeline and status reports review.
• Liaison with company nominated clearing and forwarding agents.
• Building strong and professional supplier and service provider relationships.
• Interface with suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery, and any other related queries.
• Filing foreign purchase orders, supporting import documentation, matching invoices, and records.
• Monitor and advise on any inventory issues which present risk to the division.
• Weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports generation and review.

• Minimum purchasing / supply chain diploma, equivalent or higher
• Minimum 3 years buying experience in FMCG industry
• Excel report building and reviewing skills
• Working knowledge of business purchasing best practices

• Strong analytical and decision-making skills
