INVESTMENT ANALYST, SANDTON, REMUNERATION PACKAGE NEG

SUMMARY:
We are looking for a seasoned CFA

POSITION INFO:

Our client is a State-Owned Company operating in the Financial Services Sector based in Sandton, and they require the services of the Investment Analyst.

The Investment Analyst will assist the Senior Investment Manager in the implementation of the investment strategy, monitoring and reconciling of the company’s investment expenses as well as assisting with Investment Statutory Reporting and Financials.

THIS IS A PERMANENT POSITION.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

• Honours Degree or equivalent in Investments/Economics.
• CFA
• Advanced Excel.
• Minimum of 3 years proven experience in Investments.

Knowledge

• Sound understanding of investment value chain
• Good knowledge of relevant sections of the Short-term Insurance Act, Insurance Laws Amendment Bill, Public Finances Management Act, Preferential Procurement Policy Framework Act and other Treasury related regulations.
• Functional Investment Knowledge.

Key Performance Areas  

1    Operational

• Compile data received from asset managers for reporting to Senior Investment Manager.
• Recon data received from Asset managers vs what is received from the bank.
• Follow up with asset managers on overdrawn accounts.
• Follow-up on any breach of mandate on the compliance report from the bank.
• Assist in the preparation of investment commentary for monthly reporting to Operations and Executive committee.
• Provide investment portfolio information to the Senior Investment Manager for the actuarial team.
• Populate data received from Actuarial department on market performance indicators on a monthly basis for investment workings.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly investment reports.
• Assist Investment Manager in the preparation of investment performance packs for the Executive Directors and Investment Committee.
• Maintain relationships with service providers for outsourced functions such as asset managers, asset consultants, investment administrators.
• Resolving any investment related queries with, Asset Managers, asset consultants, investment administrators.

2.               Financial & Statutory Reporting

• Daily Compilation of Asset Managers’ statements from the bank.
• Monthly and Quarterly investment reconciliations.
• Month end Investment journals.
• Monthly invoices.
• Compliance and Variance/Cash report.
• Asset Managers Individual, Executive and Group reports.
