RedCat Recruitment is urgently seeking a suitably qualified and experienced IT ENGINEER for a well-established company. Position based in Piketberg, Western Cape. JOB DESCRIPTION \/ REQUIREMENTS Grade 12. Fluent in English and Afrikaans. Valid driver's license \/ own reliable vehicle. IT Diploma \/ Certificate or equivalent technical qualification. Recognized IT certificate (e.g. CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Modern Desktop) an advantage. Exposure to cloud services (Microsoft 365 \/ Azure) an advantage. Basic firewall or switch configuration experience an advantage. Experience supporting rural, farming, or agricultural-sector clients an advantage. 1 - 3 years'' experience in a technical support or managed services environment. Previous experience in a managed service provider (MSP) environment is essential. Experience supporting multiple client environments will be advantageous. Networking (LAN\/WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, TCP\/IP, DHCP, DNS basics). Microsoft Environments (Windows 10\/11, Microsoft 365). Windows Server basics (restarts, backups, health checks). RMM (remote monitoring and management) tools. Monitoring and ticketing systems. Basic cybersecurity practices (patching, antivirus, secure passwords, phishing awareness). Person will deal with day-to-day desktop, network, and basic server support, split between remote support for most of the year and an onsite rotation at Piketberg site. The role suits a support driven, standby-ready environment while delivering consistent service across remote and onsite periods. Comfortable with light physical work onsite (e.g. cabling, carrying equipment, occasional ladder use). Willing and able to relocate temporarily to Piketberg for 3 months a year.
