IT Manager

SUMMARY:
The key role of the IT Manager position is to manage the company’s information technology and computer systems, to control and evaluate the company’s IT and electronic data operations, and to management the employees in the IT Department.

POSITION INFO:

• Oversee all technology operations (e.g. network security) and evaluate them according to established goals
• Devise and establish IT policies and systems to support the implementation of strategies set by the Board
• Analyse the business requirements of all departments to determine their technology needs
• Purchase efficient and cost effective technological equipment and software
• Inspect the use of technological equipment and software to ensure functionality and efficiency
• Identify the need for upgrades, configurations or new systems
• Coordinate the duties and responsibilities of the employees in the IT Department
• Control the IT budget and report on expenditure
• Assist in building relationships with vendors and creating cost-efficient contracts
• Design, develop, implement and coordinate systems, policies and procedures
• Ensure security of data, network access and backup systems
• Act in alignment with user needs and system functionality to contribute to organizational policy

• BSc/BA in in Computer Science or a similar qualification
• Proven track record to proactively identify IT related business
• requirements and the ability to implement strategic and creative
• solutions.
• Minimum three years’ experience as an IT Manager

• Ability to communicate effectively - verbally and in writing.
• Ability to recognise opportunities to add capabilities.
• Proven track record to recommend and implement cost saving
• initiatives
• Excellent knowledge of technical management, information
• analysis and of computer hardware/software systems
• Expertise in data centre management and data governance
• Hands-on experience with computer networks, network
• administration and network installation
• Project management skills
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Navision experience will be an advantage
• Identify problematic areas and implement strategic solutions in time
• Audit systems and assess their outcomes
• Preserve assets, information security and control structures
• Handle annual budget and ensure cost effectiveness
