I.T Operations Manager

SUMMARY:
We are currently looking for an I.T Operations Manager.

POSITION INFO:
Job Requirements:


Monitor IT Servers and Systems:
IT operations manager is required to monitor the organization’s servers, networks, and computer systems for irregularities and performance issues.
You will be required to manager assesses system data and error logs, along with user reports, to determine areas for improvement or repair.

Direct IT Engineers (Infrastructure) and Service Delivery Managers (Regional):
You will be required to direct the activities of IT engineers, both to directly support end users and to assist with IT department upgrades and directives.
Assess current department needs and help desk inquiries and assigns personnel to resolve each issue.

Develop Department Policies:
Develop IT policies and procedures to ensure that the department operates effectively and reliably.
Develop service level agreements (SLAs) for the help desk;
Ability to develop guides for users and engineers, such as FAQ documents or employee handbooks for IT department personnel.

Resolve Help Desk Escalations:
Provide direct user support by handling help desk or service desk escalations;
If IT engineers are unable to successfully resolve a user’s issue, the IT operations manager will assess the situation and devise a solution to the problem.

Negotiate Vendor Documents:
Assess department and business needs related to equipment and services and presents them to vendors;
Compare pricing and vendor bids with your departments budget, determine which vendors offer the best terms and negotiate rates.

Oversee Upgrades and Installations:
Provide support to the IT department activities while upgrading systems and servers and migrating the organization’s data; 
introduce new methods to streamline the upgrade process, monitor the system to ensure that it remains stable and usable, and maintain data security through the migration process.

Project Management and Coordination 

As a role that focuses on completing a project as efficiently and promptly as possible, the following duties and responsibilities may apply:

Leading Project Planning Sessions;
Coordinating staff and internal resources;
Managing Project progress and adapt work as required
Ensuring projects meet deadlines
Managing relationships with clients and stakeholders
Designing and signing off on completed tasks / sub projects
Overseeing all incoming and outgoing project documentation
Participating in tender process i.e. design, submission and review
Designing risk mitigation plans / strategies
Conducting project review and creating detailed reports for executive staff
Optimizing and improving processes and the overall approach where necessary
Securing growth opportunities and initiating new projects
Managing large and diverse teams
