IT Operations Manager

SUMMARY:
My client, a successful wholesale company with offices all over South Africa is seeking to employ an experienced and qualified IT Operations Manager to join their tram in Epping. You will Lead the IT team to ensure efficient and sustainable IT operations whilst delivering on multiple projects within the IT space. This will include accountability for the security, reliability, and efficiency all IT systems and infrastructure within the business. Project management and delivery of strategic IT projects will be a success factor, in addition to operational SLAs and uptime KPIs. Answer to Exco regarding the IT budget and IT deliverables.

POSITION INFO:
Responsibilities:

• Understand and constantly evaluate the overall IT strategy and operation to ensure that each aspect of IT within the company is fit for purpose and efficiently integrated.
• Plan and implement system and infrastructure changes to align with strategic projects whilst maintaining a high uptime and security of all systems and infrastructure.
• Accountable for the maintenance, monitoring and improvement of:
• network and server infrastructure,
• data backup and system security operations,
• all IT systems that support the business,
• the integration of these systems.
• Oversee the efficient operation of the IT helpdesk.
• Assess system performance and recommend improvements.
• Assist in resolving issues escalated by the IT specialists.
• Ensure data is handled, transferred, or processed according to legal and company guidelines.
• Control costs and budgets regarding IT systems.
• Manage contracts with vendors and software licenses.
• Constantly communicate with various business units to evaluate areas for improvement and where IT can add value/efficiency.
• Develop and implement IT policies, practices, and standard operating procedures.

• Proven experience as IT Operations Manager.
• Experience with managing and maintaining databases and ERP systems.
• Thorough knowledge of Microsoft enterprise solutions including 365 cloud solutions.
• Knowledge of data protection operations and legislation (e.g. POPIA)
• Leadership and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects.
• Outstanding communication skills.
• Problem-solving aptitude.
• BSc/BA in Computer Science, IT or relevant field.
