The IT Sourcing Specialist position is primarily responsible for the refinement of the IT strategic sourcing framework to support the development and execution of IT sourcing strategies across the Group, and drive value and cost saving opportunities for IT goods and services. This involves liaising with both internal and external stakeholders to understand complex business, technical, regulatory, service and legal requirements, and translate these into specific RFx requirements (i.e. Request for Information, Request for Proposal, and Request for Quote) across the various scoring categories.

IT Strategic Sourcing

• Develop comprehensive sourcing strategies and opportunities to maximise value and minimize total cost of ownership, including improved quality, pricing and service levels within applicable risk tolerance levels.
• Conduct total cost of ownership analysis to identify major cost drivers and savings opportunities.
• Align key stakeholders to the strategy and execution plans.
• Drive supply market analysis, as well as perform cost modelling and benchmarking.
• Evaluate historical spend and cost performance for technology procurement through data mining and statistical analyses, and subsequently translate the data into an annual strategic sourcing strategy.

Coordination, Facilitation and Influencing

• Collaborate with different business units to understand complex business, technical, regulatory, service and legal requirements, and translate these into specific RFx requirements across the various scoring categories.
• Execute RFx’s across supplier or spend categories to promote the benefits of a competitive sourcing process within the business, and evaluate supplier proposals and recommend business awards.
• Develop standardised systems and controls for IT sourcing (including RFx processes and documentation, build-in sourcing and procurement rules and guidelines, RFx execution models, and supplier or contractor selection criteria) to enable the most efficient and effective procurement approach based on investment risk and type of procurement.
• Execute the sourcing process and documentation controls by engaging and managing internal support teams across all relevant business units, IT and Legal.
• Lead sourcing events from project kick-off to contract negotiations.
• Develop negotiation strategy, timeline and scenarios, and manage execution to maximise investment and minimise risk.

RFx Process Design and Execution

• Elicit the business service definition, service details, current use statistics, risks and service levels required from the key stakeholders to refine the business requirements and mould the contract (terms and conditions or Statement of Work) to become the basis for bidding.
• Evaluate the existing capabilities, suppliers, business requirements and risks identified to determine the most appropriate sourcing strategy.
• Expose the Shoprite Group to a variety of different supplier offerings via the formal Request for Information (RFI) process to fully understand the service required.
• Compile comprehensive business user stories or Statement of Work details to serve as input to the Request for Proposal (RFP) process.
• Develop the RFP documentation pack, master scorecard and evaluation model.
• Execute the RFP process as the single point of contact with all participating suppliers to maintain a documented audit trail.
• Perform continuous improvement on the process and templates to streamline future tenders and ensure a positive, user-friendly experience.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree (3 years) / NQF level 7, FTI Diploma, ITIL and/or COBIT
• Up to 5 years experience
• Skilled, technical and academically qualified employees
