Our client, based in Port Elizabeth, is looking for an enthusiastic, energetic, and committed professional to join their Sales Operations and Procurement team.
You will be involved in the day-to-day activities of Sales Operations and Procurement for a geographically diverse customer portfolio complying with the strategies and conditions outlined by the employer.
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
Responsibilities will include, but not limited to, the identification, sourcing, quoting, coordination, and procurement of hardware, software, and third-party services to suit a client’s requirements. Assisting the Sales and Account Management teams with administrative tasks, managing the life cycle of quoting to implementation and managing third party service renewals and deliveries.
Building and maintaining third party supplier relationships with an emphasis on getting the best value for products and services, whilst providing exceptional customer service and expedient responsiveness.
REQUIREMENTS
- You should be an IT enthusiast with a decent understanding of general IT Hardware, Software, and third-party Services.
- The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as regular contact with internal colleagues, customers and external suppliers will be required.
- You will work well as part of a team, although be able to effectively handle individual workloads and responsibilities.
- Experience in working with Microsoft applications, including Outlook, Word and Excel is required.
- Desirable: Previous experience working in an IT MSP environment or related experience in Sales and Procurement would be advantageous (including familiarity with ConnectWise Sell and Manage).
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Working with the Procurement Manager to assist in sales operations and procurement related activities, from the creation of quotations to supplier selection, solution implementation and supplier relationship management.
- To develop sourcing methods for various complex spend areas.
- To carry out detailed assessment / analysis of issues, problems, and opportunities, to analyse supply market players, supply market conditions and relevant cost drivers in order to scope, procure, implement and deliver compliant, quality and value for money arrangements on behalf of the company.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on the generation of sales opportunities and contribute supply market conditions for the benefit of implementing solutions.
- Using best practice contract management and supplier relationship principles to ensure contracts are structured to enable successful management of the supplier relationship to extract increased value for money in terms of cost and performance. Where relevant and required, manage the supplier relationship and/or contract.
- Provide information and responses expediently to the Sales and Account Management teams in accordance with direction from the Procurement Manager.
- Actively source products, both onshore and globally, negotiating competitive prices and terms with suppliers.
- Assist with the development of long-term procurement methods of purchased material with visibility and alignment with company strategy, considering the continuity of supply and contingency plans.
- Actively source and develop new products implementing procedures and systems to evaluate or select suppliers.
- Analyse inventories to determine how to increase inventory turns, reduce waste, whilst optimising customer service.
- Identify opportunities to reuse or recycle materials to minimise consumption of new materials, minimise waste, or to convert wastes to by-products.
- Manage and maintain an effective cycle of product and service renewals, ensuring compliance with any contracted obligation and service level agreement.
- Communicate openly and effectively with internal and external colleagues, customers and suppliers translating commercial decisions into relatable concepts to promote understanding of wider business needs and securing buy-in; to deliver high quality commercial agreements.
- Work with relevant teams and stakeholders to drive contract compliance.
- Seek opportunities for collaboration which enhance the position of the company in relation to procurement practice and leverage of expenditure.
- Plan and manage individual workload in conjunction with the team to meet deadlines; understand priorities and be responsible for delivery.
- Ensure products are compliant and fully certified, meeting UK and EU standards, and suitable for providing to organisations with specific requirements, such as schools and local authorities.
