IT Project Manager

SUMMARY:

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities Project Planning and Governance Ensure all project requests are formally documented and managed through the appropriate project governance and approval processes. Develop project charters, business cases, scope statements, and project plans. Establish project objectives, success criteria, deliverables, and implementation strategies. Ensure compliance with PMO standards, methodologies, and reporting requirements. Project Delivery Manage end-to-end project lifecycles from initiation through to closure. Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, milestones, timelines, and work breakdown structures. Coordinate project resources, including technical teams, business stakeholders, and external service providers. Monitor project performance and take corrective action where required to ensure successful delivery. Stakeholder Management Build and maintain effective working relationships with business leaders, technical teams, and external vendors. Facilitate project meetings, workshops, and steering committee engagements. Provide regular project status updates, reports, and presentations to stakeholders. Escalate risks, issues, and decisions promptly to maintain delivery momentum. Financial, Risk and Change Management Manage project budgets and monitor expenditure against approved allocations. Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks throughout the project lifecycle. Implement and support change management activities to ensure successful adoption of new technologies and processes. Ensure appropriate project controls and governance measures are in place. Administration and Reporting Maintain comprehensive project documentation and records. Capture and distribute meeting minutes and project communications. Produce project dashboards, status reports, and performance metrics. Ensure project information is maintained for governance and audit purposes. Minimum Requirements Qualifications Relevant tertiary qualification (NQF Level 7 or equivalent). Project Management qualification such as PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, Scrum, or equivalent. PMP certification, or progress towards PMP certification, will be advantageous. Experience Minimum 3 to 5 years' experience in IT Project Management. Proven success in delivering medium-sized technology projects within scope, budget, and timeline. Experience across all stages of the project lifecycle, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure. Experience working within structured project governance frameworks and methodologies. Exposure to Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, and\/or PRINCE2 methodologies. Experience delivering consumer technology, digital transformation, customer experience, CRM, Payment Solutions, eCommerce, POS, or AI-enabled technology projects will be advantageous. Knowledge, Skills and Competencies Strong project management and leadership capability. Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Sound business and commercial acumen. Financial literacy and budget management skills. Excellent planning, scheduling, and organisational abilities. Strong administrative and documentation skills. Proficiency in project management tools and Microsoft Office applications. Strong analytical and problem-solving capability. Effective negotiation and conflict resolution skills. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
