JOB SUMMARY:
Our client has an urgent requirement to appoint a suitably qualified project manager: to manage various projects in Gauteng, Durban and Cape Town. Projects can run from 12 to 24 months. The project managers will be required to run projects in the following domains: IT Systems (Next Gen Network, Private Cloud, IaaS, etc.) Automated Ticketing. (Rail Operations, Passenger Information Systems)

5+ years ICT/IT project Management experience
Experience in application of Prince 2 or PMBOK

Minimum – Matric / Grade 12
Minimum 3-year post matric tertiary qualification (Degree/Diploma)
Project Management qualification (Prince 2 / PMBOK / Post-graduate certification in Project Management)
Knowledgeable in the use of MS Project

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with Senior Management and Stakeholders.

Manage the entire project life cycle according to the 9 knowledge areas of the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK/Prince2 methodology):
Scope Management
Time Management
Cost Management
Quality Management
Human Resources
Integration Management
Risk Management
Procurement Management

Serve on the evaluation team in respect of service provider tenders and make recommendations as a team member in respect of appointments.

Chair Project Progress meetings, (also member of Steering Committee) compromising both internal and external stakeholders to manage the performance and progress of the project, budget expenditure, resolution of issues and escalate issues to line manager, as necessary

Prepare a monthly consolidated progress report of projects for incorporation by line managers into the EXCO Report
Ensure that finance, progress and risks are highlighted in the report and elevate decisions required from management.
