SUMMARY:
A great opportunity exists with a leading private education group in Gauteng to run and manage the ICT Department and aid the management team with projects and strategic decisions based on the information supplied by the department.

POSITION INFO:

Duties & Responsibilities

Responsible for leading a technical team to provide development services to fulfil the departments mandate in terms of designing, implementing, supporting and monitoring the applications under its control. These areas include :

BI Developers
Data Specialists
Systems Developers

Areas of responsibility include :

1. Technical Leadership

Application and Data Integration
Database Development
Operations and Maintenance

2. Project Management

3. System Design and Implementation

Desired Experience & Qualification

Bachelor’s degree in (Information Systems, Informatics, Computer Size or Information Technology)

An appropriate postgraduate qualification and professional certifications are an added advantage

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Experience of at least 4-8 years, in a development environment with integration and business intelligence experience
Solid practical software engineering and programming experience with Web technologies e.g. Web development frameworks, .NET framework, SQL, C#, with at least 3 years as a senior software development engineer and/or technical lead with similar roles.
5+ years technical team leadership or management experience
Microsoft Stack (MS.Net Core, MS.Net, SQL Tools, Power BI)
Experience with Azure or Hadoop for large data sets strongly desired
SQL Server (2016 until current) experience advantageous
Education industry experience strongly preferred
Regulatory knowledge related to the management of personal information and electronic communication is required.
Experience in application, data and integration architecture & design, agile development technique and full systems development life cycle
Experience in dealing with complex business environment (e.g. Customer, educational products, instruments, risk and regulatory data)
