POSITION INFO:
Our client is looking for an IT Solutions Architect who can drive architecture governance, design future-fit solutions, and partner with both IT and business stakeholders to enable transformation and optimisation. The ideal candidate will bring strong retail systems knowledge, excellent problem-solving ability, and the confidence to provide thought leadership while still being hands-on in solution delivery.
What you'll do:
- Provide architectural thought leadership to guide IT and business strategies.
- Design and document scalable, sustainable, and secure solutions.
- Contribute to the development of frameworks, methodologies, and templates.
- Proactively identify IT opportunities for optimisation and transformation.
- Define and deliver technical roadmaps to meet future business demand.
- Lead solution requirements for key projects and ensure enterprise-wide alignment.
- Collaborate with IT, business, and architecture teams to drive solutions forward.
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder and supplier relationships.
Your expertise:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a solutions architecture role, ideally within retail.
- Strong experience with Retail Point of Sale (POS) systems (essential).
- Process modelling experience (essential).
- Experience across both on-premises and cloud solutions.
- Knowledge of databases, coding languages, XML and JSON feeds (advantageous).
- Experience in Agile delivery frameworks.
- Strong communication, presentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Exposure to the Defect Management Life Cycle.

- Relevant 3-year tertiary or NQF-aligned qualification (or equivalent experience).
- Architecture certification (TOGAF advantageous).
