Position: IT Support Engineer
Location: Head Office, Kraaifontein
Reports To: IT Support Lead / Head of Group IT
Salary: Market-Related

POSITION INFO:

Role Overview

We’re looking for a proactive, technically skilled IT Support Engineer to serve as the first point of contact for all internal IT-related queries. Based at the Kraaifontein Head Office, you’ll play a key role in supporting users, maintaining hardware and software systems, and ensuring reliable day-to-day IT operations across the group.

Key Responsibilities

Provide first- and second-line IT support via helpdesk, phone, email, or in person
Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues
Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals
Set up and manage user accounts, access permissions, and devices
Support Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and common business applications
Monitor system performance and assist with updates, patches, and backups
Assist in onboarding/offboarding processes from a technical perspective
Maintain accurate records of assets, incidents, and IT procedures
Escalate complex issues to senior staff or vendors as required
Support IT projects such as rollouts, upgrades, and relocations

Required Qualifications & Experience

Experience:

1–3 years in an IT support or helpdesk environment

Certifications (advantageous):

CompTIA A+
Microsoft 365 Certified (e.g., Modern Desktop Administrator)
ITIL Foundation

Technical Proficiency:

Windows and macOS environments
Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and basic networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
Remote support tools (e.g., TeamViewer, AnyDesk, RDP)
Experience with printers, mobile devices, and basic cloud concepts (e.g., Azure)

Key Competencies

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Customer-focused with the ability to explain tech clearly to non-technical users
Detail-oriented and able to multitask under pressure
Self-motivated and dependable

Working Conditions

Based full-time at Kraaifontein Head Office
Occasional travel to other sites may be required
After-hours or weekend support may be needed (rotational standby)
