IT Support Engineer

SUMMARY:
Position: IT Support Engineer
Location: Head Office, Kraaifontein
Reports To: IT Support Lead / Head of Group IT
Salary: Market-Related

Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Provide first- and second-line IT support via helpdesk, phone, email, or in person
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues
• Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals
• Set up and manage user accounts, access permissions, and devices
• Support Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and common business applications
• Monitor system performance and assist with updates, patches, and backups
• Assist in onboarding/offboarding processes from a technical perspective
• Maintain accurate records of assets, incidents, and IT procedures
• Escalate complex issues to senior staff or vendors as required
• Support IT projects such as rollouts, upgrades, and relocations

Required Qualifications & Experience

• 1–3 years in an IT support or helpdesk environment

• CompTIA A+
• Microsoft 365 Certified (e.g., Modern Desktop Administrator)
• ITIL Foundation

• Windows and macOS environments
• Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and basic networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
• Remote support tools (e.g., TeamViewer, AnyDesk, RDP)
• Experience with printers, mobile devices, and basic cloud concepts (e.g., Azure)

Working Conditions

• Based full-time at Kraaifontein Head Office
• Occasional travel to other sites may be required
• After-hours or weekend support may be needed (rotational standby)
