IT Systems Engineer

Job description

Responsible to ensure all IT systems are operational, proactively maintained and configured optimally. Support all customers (IT Users) to ensure they can access the required IT environments.

Execute technology project required by the business and ensure IT infrastructure is aligned with the technology requirements.

Main duties:

• Provide first and second-line workstation support to the users (hardware and software) and systems
• Ensure IT helpdesk are well managed and all open calls are resolved in SLA
• Set up and troubleshoot network connectivity and wireless access for local and remote computers or devises
• Install, update and repair software on organisation systems
• Install and update desktops, laptops, peripherals, networks and related software
• Responds to requests for new or configured hardware of software and keep inventory up to date
• Troubleshoot hardware and software problems, logging problems an documenting fixes
• Manage all user calls logged and ensure SLA is met
• Roaming technical support
• Manage/conduct projects allocated
• Ensure customer satisfaction
• Printer support

Qualifications and position requirements:

• Matric
• A+, N+, S+ and MCSE
• SQL Working knowledge
• 3-4 years practical experience
• Extensive knowledge of computer and server and maintenance
• Knowledge of LAN, WAN and wireless networks
• Ability to troubleshoot complex software and hardware issues
• Knowledge of database of networking security systems

Knowledge and Skills:

• Windows, Linux and Apple operating systems
• Server setup and maintenance
• Networking fault finding and maintenance
