JOB SUMMARY:
Are you an immediately available Imports Coordinator looking to refine your experience in an organization that has been around for over 80 years, as this is a newly created role due to exponential growth this role is a blank canvas offering the successful incumbent an opportunity to negotiate, plan, and manage import operations?

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Role:

Forecasting via MRP on Syspro.
Check stock on a two-weekly basis – maintain excel sheet which indicate Current stock, Usage, Outstanding orders – and calculate how many months stock available – this together with MRP is used as a tool to indicate when new orders need to be placed.
Send order suggestion with quantity and arrival date in Warehouse to MD – who confirm that stock can be ordered
Purchase order, date of order, Stock code, Quantity, Unit Price, Total Price, Payment date, Currency, ETD, ETA Durban, ETA in Warehouse.
Purchase order schedule – excluding cost is send to Sales and Warehouse on a weekly basis – to inform them of stock on order, sheet also indicate which orders is on the water and which orders has been booked to ship out.
Communicate with different suppliers on availability of orders / update Purchase orders schedule daily with current info.
Rate negotiation with Clearing and Forwarding agent on current shipments – as shipping industry and rates has become very challenging over the past 2 years.
Calculate import estimates on new and current products to MD
Adjust stock as per Warehouse requests
Oversee assistant who assist with various stock transfers
Meet with local suppliers
Price negotiation with local suppliers

Qualification:

Diploma/ Degree in Supply Chain or Logistics
Knowledge of various methods of transport on Imports: Local and international payments knowledge & experience
Ensure that MSDS sheets are on file and send to Clearing and Forwarding agent
Knowledge of Incoterms
Goods Imported on FOB basis
Have knowledge of CFR, CIF, EXW, DDP etc
Excel sheet – indicating which payments are due for payment the following week
Excel sheet – indicating which payments were made the previous week
