SUMMARY:
My client is a well-established and reputable company in the logistics and freight industry, they are seeking to appoint an experienced Import/Export Manager to oversee and streamline their international logistics and compliance processes. The successful candidate will be instrumental in managing all cross-border transactions and ensuring efficient movement of goods in and out of South Africa.
POSITION INFO:
Responsibilities:
- Manage the full import and export process, including customs clearance and documentation.
- Liaise with shipping companies, customs brokers, and freight forwarders.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of customs duties, tariffs, and trade agreements.
- Oversee transport logistics and coordinate with internal departments on shipment planning.
- Prepare and analyze reports related to shipment costs, delivery timelines, and customs trends.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with external service providers and authorities.
Required Skills & Experience:- Minimum 5 years of experience in an Import/Export or International Logistics Manager role.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in International Trade, Supply Chain, or Logistics (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of Incoterms, customs procedures, and cross-border documentation.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
- High attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure
